TicketsThe second evening of Rites of Eternal Wind will be dedicated to vocal practices that often remain outside the focus of both popular and academic music. It will begin with a performance by Karina Utomo — a contemporary artist and vocalist working with extreme vocal techniques, including growling and screaming. She performs in various rock and metal bands, and in her solo work uses traditional instruments such as gongs and percussion, as well as ritual elements from her native culture on the Indonesian island of Java. For the Triennial, she has prepared a special performance-ritual dedicated to the wind blowing from the west. The special guest of the evening is the cult Tuvan throat singer Sainkho Namtchylak, who will conclude the concert with a solo a cappella improvisation, without musical accompaniment. Sainkho is best known for her unique style, which combines the ancient sacred tradition of khöömei — Tuvan throat singing — with jazz harmonies and radical experimentation. This approach has brought her international recognition: her discography includes more than 60 albums, alongside hundreds of collaborations and thousands of performances around the world.
